Process Control Engineer

Job Position: Process Control Engineer
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Core Duties

• Setting the vision, strategy and long-term goals for the engineering department
• Developing, implementing and governing a robust change control process
• Ensuring the technical competence and reputation of the engineering department is enhanced and developed to consistently meet the technical requirements of incoming
• projects and the company's strategic development plans
• Coordinating group resourcing and planning
• Forecasting long-term business strategies, including resource development plans and budget
• Providing mentoring and identifying avenues of professional development for the group
• Ensuring all design standards and specification reviews are developed and maintained in accordance with company standards
• implementing and monitoring programs and initiatives to support the HSE ‘zero harm’ strategy
• Developing and reviewing engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements
The successful applicant will display the following skills, Abilities and attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronics or Chemical Engineering
• 1-3+ years’ process automation experience or in a similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector.
• Coren Certified
• Design of custom cabinets including DCS and PLC layouts and detailed wiring diagrams.
• Configuration of control software based on standards such as IEC 1131-3 for control systems (CFC’s, Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, Structured Text).
• Configuration of control software based on standards such as IEC 1131-3 for control systems (CFC’s, Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, Structured Text).
• Detailed functional specifications, system engineering, software configuration, staging and site commissioning.
• Design system architectures for new projects and tender enquiries and generate statements of compliance with specifications for tender submission.
• Project Experience on medium to large scale Projects from 200 to 5000 Inputs/Outputs. Proven experience in coaching, leading and developing a well established engineering team.
• Capacity to delegate appropriately
• Ability to evaluate work practices, implement systems and suggest alternatives and refinements where necessary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Not more than 40 years of Age.
• Design of custom cabinets including DCS and PLC layouts and detailed wiring diagrams.
