We are a program implementation, advocacy, and research institution working to bridge the gap between theory and practice, disrupting unhealthy local processes using scientific evidence and providing time-tested advisory services to governments, development partners, and institutions around Africa.

Background

• Recruitment of Remote Interns / Data Collectors for a National Individual Survey on the Determinant of Saving behaviour and demand for health insurance in the informal sector
• In preparation for new project funding, the DeDSL is conducting an individual survey on the determinants of saving behaviour amongst individuals or small businesses in Nigeria.
• The implication of this survey is to design a new direction for informal sector health financing and social security system in the country.
• The objective of the survey is to understand how these cohorts of individuals and businesses save, who are their major clients, how much they save, as well as why they save amongst other reasons.
• The survey also aims to determine their willingness to pay for the current health insurance scheme ongoing in several states in Nigeria.
• This survey is unpaid and meant to provide experience for nascent enumerators, with less than three years of experience who will be recruited to join us in future surveys.

Where will it be Conducted?

• This survey will be conducted within the locality of the enumerator. There is no need to travel.
• We expect you to interview your neighbours and those who are self-employed. Interviewees must not be employed by the government, they should be small business owners or work in any related enterprise snd earning some income either regularly or irregularly. It is an individual survey.

• Any other person interested in building capacity on Data Collection.

Requirement for Selection
To be Selected:

• All applicants must submit proof of education. You must provide a statement of result, diploma, or certificate signed by the designated authority (university/Polytechnic).
• You must indicate that you are available for data collection as well as available for data collection training to be held virtually at the selected date and time.
• You must also indicate that you are available for the pre-test of the survey instrument.
• You must have an android phone with enough memory provided. Your android phone should be able to accept any Open Data Kit (ODK) recommended for the survey. Please download and install the Kobo Collect App on your phone to determine the workability of your device.

• Other Services Activities.

Deliverables
Before receiving the Certificate of Participation, the following deliverables are sacrosanct:

• Upload all data collected from the field on the National Server.
• Submit proof of participation in the survey e.g Pictures collected from the field while conducting an interview. Please ensure that consent is sought from the interviewee or respondent prior to taking any snapshot.
• Ask someone to snap you and send to the WhatsApp link to be share during the data collection training.

What You Should Expect at the End of the Survey

• This survey is unpaid. All selected applicants will be issued with a Certificate of Participation by the end of the Survey.
• You will also be part of our team for future project surveys base on your performance on this survey.
