We are recruiting to fill the positions below:

Job Position: Cash Officer
Location: Yobe

Job Summary


  • The Cash Officers are based in Yobe state and directly reports to the Food Security and Livelihood Deputy Project Manager.
  • The position involves participating in the implementation of Cash Based Transfer (CBT) activities within the assigned LGA under the DFID funded Integrated Basic Nutrition Response project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mobilization and awareness raising on the mission’s program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries (at LGA level).
  • Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA and state levels when required.
  • Provide bi-weekly reports.
  • Undertake CBT interventions at assigned local government area.
  • Collect information and data on Social Protection at LGA level through surveys, assessments, regular post distribution monitoring, price monitoring and field supervision visits of beneficiary households.

Requirements
The successful candidate will;

  • Be committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Previous experience managing FSL interventions (i.e. cash based transfer, IGA, agriculture/livelihoods).
  • Experience in implementing programming on behalf of donor funded activities.
  • Fluency in Hausa and other local languages (Fulani and Kanuri).
  • A bachelor’s degree or HND in FSL related studies with previous experience with food security and livelihoods programming.
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).

 

Job Title: Cash Assistant
Location: Yobe

Job Summary

  • The Cash Assistants will be based in Tarmuwa, Gujba and Nangere respectively and is supervised by the Cash Officer.
  • The successful candidate is responsible for the implementation of Cash Based Transfer (CBT) program activities within the assigned local government area.
  • The scope of work includes; participating in the full integration of Action Against Hunger Food Security and Livelihood interventions at the community level under the DFID funded Integrated Basic Nutrition response project in Yobe State (INP plus).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mobilization and awareness raising about the organization, program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries (at LGA level).
  • Participate in project activity reports from the area of operation as per reporting schedule or when needed (bi-weekly and monthly updates, success stories, case studies etc.).
  • Report any change in context to allow for timely changes in program activity.
  • Undertake CBT interventions at LGA level to ensure the efficient and smooth implementation of social protection component of the Project.
  • Collect information and data through surveys, assessments, regular post distribution monitoring, price monitoring and field supervision visits of beneficiary households.

Requirements
The successful candidate will;

  • Have excellent commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy.
  • Be fluent in hausa and other local languages (Fulani and Kanuri).
  • Have at least a Diploma in FSL related studies with similar experience within the humanitarian sector.
  • Possess strong excellent and communication skills including problem solving skills.
  • Have Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).

 

Job Position: Facilities Assistant
Job Location:
Maiduguri, Borno
Job Summary

  • This Facilities Assistant is based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report directly to the Base HR Officer.
  • The successful candidate will manage the office, guest house and properties for effective, transparent and accountable humanitarian programme in Borno.

Task and Responsibilities

  • Arrange hotel or guesthouse accommodation bookings.
  • Monitor to ensure sufficient supply of office cleaning items and materials.
  • Coordinate, track and manage the distribution of relevant items to all offices.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement in the office and guesthouse management.
  • Manage the stocking of stationery store in coordination with Logistics and place appropriate order to re-stock supplies.

Requirements
The successful candidate will;

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, responsible and accountable.
  • Be organized, have strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
  • Have excellent Microsoft office skills with strong commitment to humanitarian work.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in HR, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field of study from a recognized institution, or equivalent work experience including office administration experience or front office experience in a busy environment.
  • Be adaptable and flexible.

 

Job Position: Public Health Promotion & Non-Food Item Distribution Field Assistant (PHP & NFI)
Location: Nangere, Yobe
Job Summary

  • This position is based in Nangere, Yobe state and report to the PHP & NFI Officer.
  • The Public Health Promotion &Non Food Items Distribution Assistant works with the PHP&NFI Officer in conducting context assessment, developing materials for hygiene promotion and carry out safe hygiene promotion and mobilize members of the beneficiary communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the PHP & NFI officer in developing teaching tools adapted to different audiences : songs, role games, meetings, training courses
  • Participate in identifying targeted partners within the communities: schools, hospitals, clinics, etc.
  • Organize hygiene promotion awareness raising sessions and mobilize communities towards adoption of safe hygiene practices.
  • Assist the PHP & NFI officer in conducting training sessions for the community workers and/or targeted populations.
  • Participate in beneficiaries selection, registration and distribution of NFI kits.
  • Participate in conducting home visits and visits to the community to identify gaps in hygiene practices.
  • Prepare training modules for the promotion of hygiene in the communities.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will;

  • Fluency in Hausa and English.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Previous experience of work in the humanitarian sector.
  • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy.
  • Have a minimum of National diploma in health, hygiene and sanitation field with experience in hygiene promotion and community mobilization.
  • Be organized and pay excellent attention to details.
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
