Assistant Material Controller
An Indigenous Oil and Gas Company located in Port Harcourt is recruiting to fill the position of an Assistant Material Controller.

Responsibilities/Summary of Functions:
- Responsible for receiving all goods and stocks
- Examine documents, to make sure it is in accordance with actual materials received to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specification
- Inspect materials before collection and storing for damages and defects to make sure it
- Prepare storage area to receive materials
- Store materials
- Package materials and label them
- Keep up to date inventory of materials
- Handle waybill
- Make sure goods and storage facility are in line with HSE standards
- Ensure that products are delivered on time
- Respond to any changes in client's demand and logistics
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products
- Liaise with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required
- Work closely with the Material Controller in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous business improvements
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
Requirements/Qualification:
- At least 3 years of operations, supply chain planning, warehouse or inventory management related experience
- Minimum of HND in relevant discipline
- Male candidates preferred
- Understanding of forecasting, budgeting, material control and cost control procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Abilities:
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations)
- Must possess excellent record-keeping skills
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- High sense of urgency with exceptional management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
