Job Description


  • Technical Authority for Production Seismology thereby accountable for the functional quality of all Production Seismology work, including the deployment of relevant global processes, minimum standards and new technologies.
  • Undertake Production Seismology projects to high technical standards and incorporate relevant aspects of other disciplines.
  • Development of skills and competencies of the Production Seismology skill?pool, including resourcing of new staff and development of standard Production Seismology learning programmes, together with technical coaching and mentoring schemes.
  • Ensure that workflow between production seismology, production geology and other technical groups is effective and efficient.
  • Advise management on study ToRs and identify appropriate tools & techniques for all Production Seismology activities.
  • QA/QC and Value Assurance of Production Seismology deliverables; input to Static Reservoir Modelling, Field Review, Field Development Plan, Well Proposals, End?of?Well reports, After Action Reviews (AAR) etc.
  • Recommend activities aimed at improving overall 3D seismic data quality and liaise with relevant departments/contractors to ensure delivery of quality products i.e. processed seismic data, VSP etc.
  • Support the Corporate Subsurface Manager in managing value creation initiatives and assist with creation of realistic and well?justified annual budget requests, and track budget activities. Present to management and JV partners when appropriate on all aspects of the role.
  • Lead and contribute to subsurface data gaps identification, data acquisition plans, and maintenance of existing data inventory. Ensure assured data are stored in approved repositories

Qualifications

  • B.Sc Geology/Geophysics (relevant advanced degree preferred) 15?20 years’ experience with a solid knowledge of Niger Delta geology.
  • Able to lead special technical projects; peer reviews; asset acquisition, etc. with technical and leadership abilities in managing robust succession and career development plans.
