Description

  • ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) is seeking a consultant to edit the mother’s association manual of the Enhancing girl’s basic education in Kebbi State funded by Oxfam Nigeria.

Introduction

  • Enhancing Girls Basic Education in Kebbi (EGBEK) is an ActionAid Nigeria project funded by OXFAM NOVIB. It is designed to enhance access to quality education for girls in Kebbi State.
  • It is a well-established fact that the quality of teachers has a direct impact on learning outcomes for children.
  • A focus on gender parity means measuring quantitative change and counting the number of girls, as compared with the number of boys, enrolling in school.
  • There is however an urgent need to complement efforts aimed at achieving gender parity with a focus on other tangible and measurable factors, such as quality of infrastructure and teachers, numbers of textbooks and supplies of teaching/learning materials available to teachers and students, and the measurement of performance through examination results and numbers of girls graduating from primary school
  • The consultant has 14 working days to carry out editing of the PFM roadmap report.

Objective:

  • Editing of the mother’s association manual to meet national and regional standard.
  • Insert the appropriately graphic representation to agree with the text as contain in a page where it exist.

Key Outcome:

  • Print-ready mothers’ association manual edited.

The Task

  • The consultant will provide seasoned editing to the draft manual to meet national and regional standard.

Scope of Work:

  • Editing of one hundred and fifteen pages document and Insert the appropriately graphic representation to agree with the text as contain in a page where it exist

Deliverables and Timelines:

  • Editing of the document - 14 days (between 5th - 19th February 2016).

Profile of the Consultant
Consultant with the following qualification, expertise and skills is required for the assignment:

  • A relevant educational qualification with at least 10 years of experience in editing (Must).
  • Proven experience in and evidence of having edited and developed similar work.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines (important)
  • Excellent skills in micro soft package and other editing software. (Must)

Fees

  • AAN will pay 50% of the total consultancy fee and remaining 50% at the completion of the assignment with submission of satisfy edited manual.
  • The consultant shall be responsible for her/his tax and other statutory obligations. ActionAid shall however deduct the statutory 5% With Holding Tax (WHT) and remit to relevant
