About the Project


  • The PARTNER Project is a 5-year USAID-funded project that seeks to ensure that Nigerian communities, government, security, and civil society actors will collaborate to increase the effectiveness, local ownership, and sustainability of an inclusive Early Warning Early Response (EWER) system for improved violence prevention.
  • The above will be achieved when key stakeholders work together to create and sustain conflict EWER systems to foster peace and tolerance in communities and mitigate banditry and criminality in areas currently affected or at risk of violent conflict.
  • A diverse set of key stakeholders will be engaged in community-based effort to promote communication, dispute resolution, dialogue, and advocacy for peace and reconciliation
  • Mercy Corps-PARTNER Activity is looking for two (2) Data Entry Clerks to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidates will be computer-savvy and fast typists with a keen eye for detail. You will report to the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer. Understanding data confidentiality principles is compulsory.
  • The organization will rely on you for accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.

Project Description
The Data Entry Clerks will work on this project which is broken down into two specific aspects:

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
  • Type in data provided directly by program team members.
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents.

The second aspect of the work will include the following:

  • Update existing data.
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested.
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.
  • Provide occasional administrative support.

Outputs:

  • Deliverable 1 — Data entry for event attendance quarter 2,3,4 FY 23 and FY24
  • Deliverable 2 - Data entry for women in substantive role quarters 2,3,4 FY 23 and FY24
  • Deliverable 3 — Database for trained participants 2,3,4 FY 23 and FY24

Timeframe:

  • January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024

Data Entry Clerk Qualifications/Skills

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk
  • Basic understanding of data collection software such as Commcare, Ona, Kobocollect etc
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Fast typing skills: Knowledge of the touch-typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Great attention to detail
