Database Administrator

ROLE SUMMARY

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of ITEXs databases. Their duties include monitoring and updating malware protection software to combat potential security breaches, creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases, and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner.

DUTIES AND RESPINSIBILITIES

• Ensuring database access and integrity

• Monitoring and optimizing the database's performance by planning for the database system's memory, disk space, and network requirements.

• Planning for backup and recovery of database information and conducting regular tests regularly to ensure usability.

• Backing up and restoring databases

• Establishing end-user database access control levels

• Generating reports using database queries

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• BSc degree in Computer Science or related field

• Two to five years’ experience as a Data Base Administrator

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

• Cloud Infrastructure Foundation

• Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate

• MongoDB Associate Database Administrator

• PostgreSQL Associate Certification

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of database design and theories

• Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks.

• Knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or SQL/PSM

• Knowledge of IT security best practices
