Head, Agro Commodity (AgroCom)

Responsibilities

· Develop the Route to Market strategy and Channel Development plan to meet business objectives.

· Secure the best prices on purchases while simultaneously supplying competitive bids to customers.

· Oversee the implementation of all operational policies for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise and customer orders

· Develop, expand, and maintain sources and contacts relevant to the market area of coverage.


· Establish, maintain, and grow customer relationships by engaging customers and learning about their businesses, including their marketing strategy, hedging needs, by way of market knowledge and products that best fit their business.

· Oversee budgeting and the P& L for all commodity trading activities

· Present marketing strategies and products to customers, using working knowledge of input and produce market fundamentals and basis trading principles.

· Develop and maintain analytics dashboards while working with Finance to track and optimize performance

· Create a robust risk management strategy for all commodity categories to ensure mitigation of Price risk, Counter party, Credit risk, Basis risk and other environmental risks.

· Manage the logistics surrounding commodity origination and merchandising.

· Closely monitor competitors’ action and develop strategies to grow the company’s market share.

· Set periodic-e.g. weekly, monthly, and quarterly target and effectively communicate the target to relevant stakeholders.

· Handle export related document process, coordination with bank, arrangement of certifications required for local and export trade.

· Train, coach and direct AgroCom team on merchandise handling, shipment processing, merchandise presentation, and warehousing as needed.

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, finance, Agric Economics, Marketing or other related fields; Master’s degree is an advantage.

· Ten to Fourteen (10-14) years’ experience in purchasing or trading (experience in agricultural  input and grain merchandising role is preferred).
