Job Position: Head of Legal Compliance

Job Location: Asokoro, Abuja (FCT)

Job Description


  • We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Legal Compliance to lead and oversee the organization’s legal and compliance framework.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while proactively identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.
  • This role serves as a key advisor to senior management and supports the organization’s governance, ethics, and risk management objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s legal compliance strategy and framework
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Advise senior management and the Board on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization
  • Oversee internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls
  • Lead internal investigations, audits, and regulatory inspections where required
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across the organization
  • Provide training and guidance on legal and compliance obligations to employees
  • Prepare compliance reports, risk assessments, and management updates

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); admission to the Bar is required
  • Proven experience in a senior legal or compliance leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management
  • Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership and boards
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Law, Compliance, or Risk Management
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CCEP, ICA)
  • Experience in the hospitality Industry
  • Experience managing regulatory examinations and complex legal matters

Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 / month.
