We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP)
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Human Resources
Directly Reports to: HR Director
Indirectly Reports to: General Manager, Operations
Supervises: Foremen, HR/Admin Officers
Indirect Oversight: Over 100 skilled and unskilled workers across multiple sites
Job Summary
- The HRBP partners strategically with ichr group’s leadership, foremen, and clients to ensure effective HR management across operational sites.
- This role drives talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while working proactively and independently within a field-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities:
- Primary HR liaison supporting foremen, supervisors, and field staff.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and workforce deployment.
- Conduct site visits for engagement, compliance, and safety oversight.
- Support disciplinary processes, performance issues, and grievance handling.
- Liaise with the HR Director and GM Operations to align HR strategy with business needs.
Key Responsibilities / Major Tasks:
- Lead recruitment for skilled and unskilled roles.
- Identify training needs and roll out development programs.
- Foster client relationships and ensure HR support aligns with project expectations.
- Implement performance appraisal systems to drive productivity.
- Monitor HR metrics and feedback to inform leadership decisions.
- Assist with HR policy development, change management, and employee engagement initiatives.
KPIs
- Project staffing readiness and timeliness.
- Compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and internal HR policies.
- HRD, Foremen and client satisfaction with HR delivery.
- Reduction in delays in HR legal and internal documentation, turnover, absenteeism, and disciplinary incidences.
- Completion of training/development initiatives and accurate HR reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in HR Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in field/operational contexts (e.g., construction, oil & gas).
- CIPM or equivalent HR certification is highly preferred.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and workforce management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 per month.
