Teerus Microfinance Bank is a newly established tier 1 unit microfinance bank located in Surulere, Lagos State. As a microfinance bank, we provide financial services to micro, small and medium enterprises both formal and informal, and to underserved individuals who require affordable loans.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Business Development Manager

Job Location: Surulere, Lagos

Description


  • The Head of Business Development is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the bank’s revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, establishing strong partnerships, and developing innovative products and services tailored to the needs of the microfinance sector. 
  • The role demands exceptional market insight, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a high-performing team to achieve the bank’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development:

  • Develop and execute the bank’s business development strategy in alignment with its overall vision and objectives.
  • Identify and explore new market segments, partnerships, and customer acquisition channels.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging trends in the microfinance sector.

Product and Service Innovation:

  • Design, develop, and implement new financial products and services to meet the needs of target customers, including SMEs and low-income groups.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance of existing products and propose improvements to enhance value and competitiveness.

Partnership and Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with corporate clients, NGOs, cooperatives, and community-based organizations.
  • Represent the bank at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and credibility.

Revenue and Market Expansion:

  • Develop initiatives to achieve revenue targets, including customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute impactful campaigns to promote the bank’s products and services.

Team Leadership and Capacity Building:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the business development team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
  • Identify skills gaps within the team and organize training programs to build capacity and drive innovation.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business development team and prepare regular progress reports for the Managing Director.
  • Use data analytics to identify opportunities for growth and recommend strategies to optimize market penetration.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. A master’s degree or certifications in Business Development or Sales Management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in business development, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the microfinance sector.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful business strategies in the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian microfinance landscape, including customer behaviors, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, networking, and relationship management skills.

2.) Teller

Job Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers with processing transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, or payments, resolving complaints or account discrepancies, and answering questions.
  • Up-selling and Cross-selling of bank's products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Tracking, recording, reporting, and storing information related to transactions, and customers, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Keeping records of customer interactions, transactions, comments and complaints.
  • Knowing our products inside and out so that you can answer questions.
  • Handling currency, transactions, and confidential information professionally..
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Responding promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Communicating with customers through various channels.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an HND / OND qualification with 1 - 3 years of work experience.
  • Cash handling experience and on-the-job training may be required.
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • High level of accountability, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office especially Excel and Word

3.) IT Support Staff

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to staff across branches for hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the core banking application, internet banking platform, and other financial systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on systems, servers, printers, ATMs, POS devices, and networks.
  • Manage user accounts, access control, and ensure proper IT security practices in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and support branch connectivity, including VPNs, routers, firewalls, and switches.
  • Document issues, track resolutions, and escalate complex problems to the relevant vendors or higher-level IT team.
  • Assist with the deployment of new systems or upgrades to existing ones.
  • Provide IT onboarding for new staff and support ongoing training initiatives.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with CBN IT guidelines, data protection laws, and internal IT policies.

Requirements
Must Have:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably within a Microfinance Bank or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and typical financial systems (core banking apps, credit management systems, e-channels, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and MAC OS, Microsoft Office Suite, networking, and basic server management.
  • Knowledge of IT support tools like remote desktop software, ticketing systems, and active directory.
  • Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and data security in financial institutions.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Certification in IT (CompTIA A+, N+, ITIL, MCP, etc.).
  • Experience with Temenos, BankOne, or other microfinance core banking platforms.
  • Familiarity with mobile banking apps, USSD platforms, and agency banking solutions.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, batch scripts, etc.).
