Job Title: Lead, Electrical Engineer

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Overview / Responsibilities:

• Receives Project documentation and understands Scope of Work related to his discipline what is required.
• Review projects schedules on assigned projects with the Project Engineer or HOP to confirm that all dates, rates of progress and design periods are realistic
• Responsible for design of all electrical work on assigned projects including preparation and approval of project related standards on assigned projects.
• Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used on assigned projects meet the Client’s requirements.
• Prepare general notes requisitions for electrical equipment on assigned projects. Review all electrical drawings, check design quality and technical accuracy on assigned projects including assistance to designers with the preparation of electrical drawings on assigned projects.
• Specify and prepare material requisitions for electrical equipment on assigned projects, prepare technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment on assigned projects.
• Provide progress report information on assigned projects, at the required frequency and with the required content to the project Engineer
• Follow up electrical construction work on assigned projects on project sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation
• Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer and Engineering Manager of any slippages / deviations and their causes and proposed corrective action and of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups
• Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects
• Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer and Engineering Manager (HOP) of possible fields for technical investigations, deficiencies and possible improvements.
• Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports as and when required.
• Accept responsibility as requested for development and maintenance of expertise in specific areas of technology
• Lead a team to undertake commissioning activities in small projects.
• Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
• Implement & test the subsystems as per project commissioning test sheets.
• Preparation of method statements, procedures and routines where required.
• Interface towards Precommissioning and Company personnel.
• Reports on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.
• Assist during the database preparation for precomisioning status index and commissioning technical database.
• Plan, Monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.
• Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for the subsystem testing.
• Perform inter-discipline checks.
• Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
