Job Position: Logistics Officer

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Logistic Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods and materials throughout our organization.
  • This role involves managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and optimizing supply chain processes to meet customer demands and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of materials and products.
  • Conduct regular stock checks, manage stock rotation, and implement effective inventory control measures.

Vendor Management:

  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and negotiate favorable terms and agreements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements.

Order Processing:

  • Process purchase orders, sales orders, and shipping documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure orders are fulfilled promptly.

Shipping and Distribution:

  • Plan and coordinate the shipment of products to customers, distribution centers, and other locations.
  • Ensure shipments comply with local and international regulations.

Cost Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings in logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce expenses.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that products and materials meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement quality control procedures and resolve quality-related issues.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, shipments, and transactions.
  • Prepare shipping and customs documentation as required.

Reporting:

  • Generate regular reports on logistics and supply chain performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Logistic Officer or in a similar logistics role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with local and international shipping regulations is a plus.
