Management Trainee - Safety Officer

Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited was established in 1981 with Registration No. RC 37125 as a limited liability company specialized in all kinds of Structural Steel fabrication design & erection to the civil construction and Oil & Gas Industries, development and manufacturing of various semi-trailers, rigid truck bodies, which enabled the company to deliver complete projects of steel structures coupled with civil engineering.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Trainee - Safety Officer
Job Location: Lagos

Job Descriptions

• Work with the safety team towards ensuring a better understanding of the inherent risks associated with projects and controls put in place to reduce risks.
• Carry out periodic audits to ensure compliance with approved standards, work procedures and guidelines
• Dissemination of HSE issues to the entire work force
• Hold HSE Meeting, tool box talks, pep talks on a regular basis.
• Plan and carry out Emergency drills to sharpen employee awareness on ERP procedures in case we are faced with a live situation.
• In compliance with applicable environmental legislation, ensure that wastes are properly managed to approve standards.
• Participate actively in in-house HSE training for employees to improve their on the job awareness and competency.
• Carry out pre mob inspection of all equipment before mobilising to site to ensure that they are in good condition and can deliver the job.

Required Skills and Qualification

• Minimum of National Diploma (ND) in Engineering or Sciences with at least 2 years cogent experience.
• NISP Level iii Certification.
• Must be computer literate – Word, Excel, Power Point , etc
• Experience in HSE supervision in construction sites.
