Transport Services Limited (TSL) is a foremost indigenous logistics transportation company that provides customized transportation and logistics solutions. We currently operate out of five locations spread across the Western and Eastern regions of Nigeria providing logistics services to stakeholders in the oil and gas, mining and construction, FMCG and Agricultural sector.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Material Planning Manager

Job Location: Lagos State.
Department: Supply Chain

Key Purpose of Job

  • To manage the end to end planning processes within Supply chain from actual data collation on material usage to material forecasting and supply, enabling the company to realize its growth and profitability targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches.
  • Works effectively across the organization to ensure successful execution of supply chain support on many integrated efforts
  • Develop and manage Materials Planning function for goods and materials needed for Company operations.
  • Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory management purposes.
  • Create integrated processes among Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process.
  • Identify systems tools needed to implement planning/forecasting systems. Coordinate reengineering efforts as it relates to supply chain planning and execution systems.
  • Manage material requirement plans and/or forecasts and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting.
  • Performs life cycle cost studies, defines integrated logistics support requirements and prepares estimates, schedules, and support system inputs
  • Monitor demand Planning, Fulfilment and Order Execution
  • Responsible for operational Planning, maintenance Scheduling & Execution
  • Coordinate Supply Network planning and processes/capacity optimization
  • Manage distribution Planning and collaboration for effective parts and material availability at all sites

Ensure compliance with all health, safety and security regulations and policies:

  • Ensure that adequate and effective risk assessments are undertaken and regularly reviewed.
  • Liaise with HSSEQ department on any health, safety or security problem which you cannot resolve.
  • Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all staff under direct management and expected to contribute to the health and safety of all personnel in the overall business unit.
  • Comply with health and safety procedures and instructions.

People Management:

  • Monitor performance of planning officers and provide leadership in achievement of set targets
  • Self-development and continuing personal development

Anticipated Outcomes of Role:

  • Ensure proper material planning and forecasting
  • Ensure zero out of stock (OOS) of parts and material
  • Simulate proper maintenance scheduling to achieve optimal result

  • Strategic project planning and delivery
  • Operational forecasting and forecast adherence
  • KPI monitoring for business decision

Job Requirements
Education:

  • A first degree in any management / Engineering discipline from a recognized institution and/or a relevant postgraduate business qualification (MBA or equivalent tertiary qualification)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years planning experience. 5 years of which must be demand and supply planning experience, specifically people management. Of the 10 years’ experience, at least 3 years must have been spent in a senior management role.
