Overall Function


  • We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Procurement Lead to join our team.
  • The Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing the procurement function within the organization.
  • This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • The Procurement Lead will collaborate with various departments to meet the organization's procurement needs while maintaining compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, including negotiating terms and conditions, monitoring performance, and resolving issues.
  • Vendor Selection: Collaborate with departments to identify and select reliable and cost-effective vendors.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget, track expenses, and report on procurement-related financial matters.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that procured goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities through negotiations, supplier selection, and process improvements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and review contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the organization.
  • Procurement Process: Oversee the procurement process, including requisition processing, purchase order creation, and supplier selection.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions and compliance issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation
N400,000 - N500,000 Net.
