The Place is a fast growing, world class, and dynamic, multi-billion Nigerian conglomerates, established and managed by a team of professionals with decades of management consulting and accounting experience/ training from Arthur Andersen (now KPMG in Nigeria). We are a profitable player in the QSR sector of the Hospitality industry in Nigeria with great prospects and staff strength of over 1000 employees. Currently, our operations span across 17 locations in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, with rapid expansion plans to penetrate more locations in the short to medium term.

Job Position: Purchasing Analyst - Northern Nigeria

About the Role

  • We are a leading QSR looking to employ Research & Sourcing personnel who will play a key role in building our direct farmer engagement and strategic sourcing capabilities.
  • This opportunity involves in -dept market research, Frequent travel across Nigeria and cultivating strong supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of agricultural products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish direct sourcing channels with farmers and agricultural cooperatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and price analysis to inform and optimize procurement strategies.
  • Undertake regular travel to key agricultural regions to negotiate terms and develop a robust network of suppliers.
  • Provide timely and insightful reports on market trends, supply chain efficiencies, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align sourcing activities with overall business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agric related course, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in research, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably within the agricultural sector (ThriveAgric or Babangona).
  • Must be male
  • Demonstrable skills in market analysis, negotiation, and building strong, lasting relationships with suppliers.
  • A strong willingness and ability to travel extensively within Nigeria and work directly with agricultural producers.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to speak hausa language fluently is essential.
