Responsibilities


  • Responsible for Welding and NDT procedures;
  • Responsible for planning and cost concerning Welding and NDT activities and consumables required for project preparations and production onshore and offshore;
  • Interface with Superintendent, Project Managers and Operations for pipeline construction projects when necessary with the goal of maintaining schedule and reducing cost;
  • Act as consultant to Proposal Engineers/managers, QA/QC and Business development;
  • Represent the Company in any discussions with clients for the resolution of Welding and NDT matters for the pipelay vessels;
  • Initiate and contribute to the introduction of new welding techniques/methods and new welding consumables and or equipment to improve the standard and economy of welding performed within the company for their pipeline installation vessels;
  • Review tender documents and advice on welding and NDT related requirements and associated costs for the pipelay vessels.
  • Address and resolve issues in order to generate acceptable welding and NDT procedures per applicable specifications. This also includes welder qualifications;
  • Resolve daily operational issues to facilitate an efficient ongoing welding production line;
  • Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required).

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • COREN Registered or Registerable Engineer
  • Mega Deepwater Project Work Experience
  • At least 15+ years’ experience in upstream EP projects with emphasis on welding, preferably for Deepwater projects. At least 10 years’ experience directly related to welding.
