Job Position: Assistant Head Chef

 Responsibilities


  • To work with the kitchen team to produce food for the unit to a high standard on a daily basis.
  • To take responsibility for the daily paperwork with regards to ordering.
  • To assist the Head Chef with ordering and menu planning.
  • To assist in any of the kitchens, this may require assistance within or outside normal working hours.
  • To take responsibility for the adherence & compliance of all food hygiene legislation.
  • Have a full understanding and knowledge of food safety law.
  • To report and, where possible, to attend to and carefully take all necessary action, statutory and otherwise, in the event of accident, fire, loss, theft, lost property, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and complete the necessary return and/or report.
  • To ensure that the temperature records and monitoring is done on a daily basis
  • To ensure that areas under your control are cleaned as per the cleaning schedule.
  • To ensure that the kitchen stores and other potential areas of loss are secured at all times according to the instructions laid down by the management.
  • To cover all duties normally assigned to the Head Chef in their absence.
  • To carry out any reasonable requests made by your line manager
  • Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role

Required Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a Food Restaurant business
  • Suitable candidate should not be more than 32 years of age
  • Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Good organisational skills used in planning own work
  • Calm and professional disposition
  • Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance/supervision
  • Willingness to accept responsibility
  • Good analytical ability
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Able to manage high volume workload
  • Good problem solving ability
