International Medical Corps job for Finance and Administrative Assistant
The International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global, humanitarian, non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training, relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, non-political, non-sectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations.
International Medical Corps has been operating in Nigeria since November 2013. It currently has its country office in Abuja and field offices in Kano, Sokoto and Maiduguri where it is implementing emergency Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Protection programs, and also building capacity of local health systems and structures, ensuring the provision of quality, accessible Nutrition and Health Care.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Finance and Administrative Assistant
Location: Sokoto
Job Summary
- The finance Assistant has responsibility to support payments, receipts and disbursement of funds
- He/She will provide support to the finance unit and would also take up some Administrative task.
Main Responsibility
Fund disbursement:
- Ensure required preapprovals are secured in advance in incurring an expense.
- Prepare procurement request and ensure all approvals are secured and coordinate with Logistics department the delivery of service and goods.
- Account for Procurement transactions to ensure adequate supporting documentation, Accuracy, and control over payments.
- Maintain proper filing and easy retrieval of finance documentation.
- Conduct weekly and month end cash counts.
- Payment of participant and other Training - cash payments out of the office.
- Update and Upload on cost point cash transaction.
- Daily reconcile of cash and book balances.
Others
- Ensure all documents are filed and stamped “PAID.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or line manager.
- Delivering Results - Applying Technical and Professional expertise-Working effectively with others - Communicating with impact.
- Adhere to IMC and Donors Values: Accountability; Ambition; Collaboration; Creativity; Integrity.
- Perform other Administrative job which includes but not limited to Filling, ensure the proper running of the office, liaising with HR and Admin
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting or Comparable degree.
- One year experience in similar role.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with NGO required.
- Experience with saga will be an asset.
- Commitment to Humanitarian work in Nigeria.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft office package.
- Ability to follow procedures and work under pressure.
