Nutrition Project Manager at Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger | ACF-International, works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position:  Nutrition Project Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary


    The Nutrition Project Manager will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Field Coordinator.
    The role will involve supporting health facilities clinics as well as basic health care and nutritional treatment.
    The Nutrition Project Manager will be the focal point in providing technical support and recommendations on program implementation at all stages of the project cycle and ensuring quality of services delivered, ensuring compliance with Action Against Hunger protocols and national guidelines.
    He/she will work closely with the Grant manager and other sector managers (e.g. FSL, WASH, M&E etc.) to ensure project objectives are achieved; as well as with the Logistics, HR, and Finance departments when required.

    The Nutrition Project Manager will focus on contributing to the definition and implementation of Action Against Hunger policies, positioning and strategies of health and nutrition department in the mission.
    He/she will manage, supervise and train the program team. This is a technical specialist position expected to support technical implementation of Action Against Hunger’s nutrition & health program in Yobe.
    
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will:

    Have at least a Degree in Health/Nutrition related field with experience in Emergency Health and Nutrition Intervention. A postgraduate Degree will be an added advantage.
    Have effective organisational skills to represent the mission at various level.
    Possess excellent written and verbal skills in English including ability to use Microsoft office packages.
    Be willing and able to travel regularly to field sites and monitor activities.
    Have strong understanding of project project life cycle management, monitoring and evaluation.
    Be flexible and able to work within a multicultural team.
    Have a minimum of 2 years experience in managing health and nutrition in the humanitarian sector including proposal writing, project budget management, reporting and training.
    Be disciplined and able to work and arrive at decisions independently and with less supervision.
