Job Title: Treasury Specialist

Location: Nigeria

Job Description


  • The roll purpose of the Treasury Officer includes but not limited to carrying out daily inflow booking activities, dealing with banks, loan booking/liquidations and bank reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Daily review of various banks statements for inflows, loan maturities
  • Coordinate with receivable team to arrange payment remittances and booking of inflow
  • Adjustment of WHT deductions in receivables and movement from AP to TD.
  • Collecting the cheques from clients and allocating to the Banks according to loan obligations
  • Dealing with the banks for booking of loans/liquidations of loans/fund transfers
  • Responsible for maintaining updated Bank Reconciliations of Current Accounts, Loan accounts, Dom accounts and sub accounts.
  • Analyze and recording of interest, bank charges, COT, Form M charges, offshore charges ,Telex charges in the system and liaison with bank for any irregularities
  • Follow up with Banks for loan schedules, telexes, payment confirmations
  • Maintaining the loan reports, checking of provisions accounts i.e LC Commission, USD loan provisions
  • Responsible for inter account funding so that payment to Port, Shipping lines, Terminal can be made without delay.
  • Assisting team on monthly Bank reconciliation reporting and various other MIS

Requirements
The ideal candidate must meet the following:

Qualifications & Training:

  • A first Degree in a Computer or Business related discipline, but a finance related degree is desirable
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA)
  • Four to seven years’ experience in Financial accounting with strong focus on reconciliation in an FMCG environment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Should have experience on bank reconciliations
  • Sound knowledge of Account and Finance
  • Well versed with OD Interest calculation and various other bank charges
  • Should have experience in dealing with banks
  • Knowledge of Letter of Credits and related transactions dynamics
  • Should be good in Microsoft office and have worked in ERP environment
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and resolve issues

  • Able to work in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment

Working Relationships:

  • Has to maintain a good working relationship internally i.e. various departments of the organization and externally i.e. Banks.
