Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi - This is to inform all 2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 graduands of this University, their parents and the general public that the 19th, 20th, 21st and 22 Combined Convocation Ceremony is slated for Friday 22nd and Saturday 23 January, 2016.

A.) Programme of Events
Day 1: Friday, 22 January, 2016

1.) Convocation Lecture by Dr. (Engr.) Umar Buba Bindir, Secretary to State Government Adamawa State.

• Topic: Developing Qualitative Human Capital as a Critical Mass in Nigeria’s quest for Global Rating: The Indispensable Role of Universities.
• Venue: 1000 Capacity University Lecture Theatre, Yelwa Campus
• Time: 4.00pm

2.) Exhibitions

• Venue: Faculty of Environmental Technology, Phase 1, Court Yard.
• Time: From 10.00am

3.) Chancellors Night

• Time: 7.00pm
• Venue: Vice Chancellor’s Residence Darazo Road, Rimi Close, GRA, Bauchi.

Day 2: Saturday 23 January, 2016

1.) Convocation

• Venue: Temporary Convocation Square, Between Faculty of Environmental Technology and PTDF Building, Yelwa Campus.
• Time: 10.00am prompt.
  • Procession
  • Investiture of the Chancellor, His Majesty Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III (CON, JP). The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti.
  • Award of Honourary Doctorate Degree to the Chancellor
  • Award of Prizes: Diplomas; First Degrees and Postgraduate Degrees.
  • Induction of Graduates into ATBU Alumni Association.

2.) Refreshments for VIPs

• Venue: Faculty of Environmental Technology, Phase II, Courtyard.
• Time: Immediately after the Convocation Ceremony.

3.) Refreshments for Graduands and Visitors

• Venue: PTDF Building
• Time: Immediately after the Convocation Ceremony.

B.) Notice To Graduands

• Academic gowns and book of proceedings can be collected at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Trust and Investment Limited ATIL office premises, Yelwa Campus as from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd January, 2016 on presentation of evidence of payment of N7,500 (Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira Only) at GTB with Account Number 0170174388, SORT CODE 058036013. Guest invitations to be collected by graduands at the spot.
• Assemble behind the 1000 seat capacity Lecture Theatre Yelwa Campus on Saturday, 23 January, 2016 at 8.30am for the procession.
• All should be fully robed and arranged in an alphabetical order of Faculties.
• No graduand will be allowed into the Convocation square after 9.00am
• Certificates can be collected at the old Council Chamber, Yelwa Campus after the Convocation and on presentation of:
  • Evidence of payment of five thousand naira (N5,000) Alumni fee at FCMB Account Number 1759651018
  • Evidence of return of academic gown tATIL.
  • Statement of Result (S.O.R)

• Venue: Awalah Hotel
• Time: 8.00pm

C.) Notes to Journalists and Photographers
Those covering the convocation shall be accredited on Friday 22nd January, 2016 at the old Council Chamber Yelwa Campus between 10.00am and 12.00 Noon.

D.) Notes on Security

• Luggage and bags are not allowed into the convocation area.
• University Security personnel will direct guests to their designated parking lots.
• Car stickers provided should be pasted on vehicles.
• The University Authorities and the Community appreciate your presence and wish you safe journey to and from the Convocation.
