Job Position: Head, Internal Audit

Job Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The bank internal auditor performs various duties, tasks, and responsibilities in assisting senior management and the board of directors in ensuring improvement in the bank’s operations.
  • Examine and evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of the internal control systems
  • Perform review of the effectiveness and application of risk assessment methodologies and risk management procedures
  • Review financial and management information systems, including the electronic banking services and electronic information system
  • Review financial reports and accounting records for accuracy and reliability
  • Perform review of means, techniques, or methods of safeguarding assets
  • Perform review of system applied by the bank in evaluating its capital vs estimated risk
  • Perform evaluation of the economy and operational efficiency
  • Perform test on both the functioning of specific internal control procedures and transactions
  • Perform review on established systems for ensuring codes of conduct, compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and the implementation of procedures and policies
  • Perform special investigations; and carry out tests on the timeliness and reliability of the regulatory reporting.
  • Undertaking internal audits to ensure the company meets its financial, operational and compliance objectives
  • Supporting the development of an assurance planning reporting process
  • Reporting on control deficiencies to management and making recommendations to mitigate risk and add value
  • Challenging current processes across the company and identify opportunities for refinement
  • Engaging remediation of identified issues through follow-up
  • Playing an active role in the maintenance and review of policies and procedures, including ensuring they are up to date with all legislation and best practices
  • Communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the company.

Job Position: Teller

Job Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • To direct and oversee the companies banking operations function relating to customers deposit and withdrawals, you are also to assist customers by answering questions, processing transactions, and assisting them with other bank business while also handling many of the bank’s clerical and administrative duties.

Key Job Responsibilities / Duties

  • Assisting customers with processing transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, or payments, resolving complaints or account discrepancies, and answering questions.
  • Informing customers about bank products and services.
  • Tracking, recording, reporting, and storing information related to transactions, bank supplies, and customers, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Maintaining and balancing cash drawers and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Packaging cash to be stored in the banks vault.
  • Keeping a clean, organized work area and a professional appearance.
  • Handling currency, transactions, and confidential information in a responsible manner.
  • Using software to track bank information and generate reports.
  • Following all bank financial and security regulations and procedures.
  • Electronically record every transaction during working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field may be preferred.
  • Cash handling experience and on-the-job training may be required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Job Position: Recovery Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The role would require you as the Recovery Officer to be responsible for collecting bad debt including written-off loans and loans overdue and other acceptable common practices aligned with legal framework requirement.
  • Effective and consistent formulation and execution of Collections and Recovery strategies for improving performance, delivering the best result based on individual account circumstances while maintaining customer relationship.
  • Proactive and ongoing monitoring and management of loan portfolio to minimize bad debt provisions/losses.
  • Providing collections and Recovery expertise and knowledge for annual, quarterly and monthly forecasts.
  • Meeting with delinquent customers (if needed) and making appropriate decisions to prevent cases from further deterioration.
  • Demonstrating the ability to take on role specific requirements as outlined by management.
  • Applying appropriate recovery measures in dealing with defaulting customers to ensure that all NPLs are dully attended to Propose and implement strict internal controls over procedures, audit recommendations and regulatory requirements to safeguard the company from potential losses.
  • Liason with call center team for minimization of overdue cases, improving contact ability.
  • Ensuring that reminders are sent to overdue customers before due date by coordinating working with the credit team.
  • Monitoring and controlling all overdue cases and ensuring that these are followed up for release / renewal / auction as the case may be and co-coordinating action within the Legal provisioning.
  • Understanding the banks system/software for better monitoring and resolution of overdue cases.
  • Ensuring that all legal notices, Auction notices are timely issued to borrowers by co-ordaining with team.
  • Liaison with legal team of both the products for all recovery related matters (Legal notices, replies, auction etc.)
  • Timely Interest servicing and Renewal for Overdraft accounts.
  • Set out the detail actions and target of loan write off recoveries down to all the concerned client service officers;
  • Identify and assess a recovery likelihood of loan write off clients, rating Low, Medium, or High;
  • Coordinate with account officers to identify loan write off clients and classify them into four different categories according to combination of their willingness to pay and capacity to pay.
  • Work closely with Unit Heads (UH) and account Officer (AO) to execute recovery techniques and strategies including, loan write off mapping, regular home visit and chasing, and collecting;
  • Try to get all the loan write off clients to have commitments with us, and to get them to follow their promise;
  • Seek ways to continuously improve performance and productivity on the job;
  • Work closely with the Head of Credit, to identify root cause of loan delinquency, operational weaknesses and recommend changes to improve the quality of the portfolio.
