We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Account Officer

Job Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • The preparation of annual statutory accounts, liaison with the school’s auditors, preparation of necessary documents for financial audits by external auditors
  • The preparation of the termly school budget, capital expenditure plans and longer-term financial plans.
  • Preparation and management of Pension accounts, computation of staff salaries and generation of Payroll, ensure appropriate deductions such as Statutory- (PAYE, pension), Staff loans, etc.
  • Completion and verification of bank reconciliation, monthly financial statements, management of accounts
  • Liaising with external tax consultants on tax matters, maintaining up to date status with all taxes and statutory payments, compiling and monitoring VAT returns.
  • Maintains an up-to-date insurance status of school assets, review the adequacy of cover, report on cost effective alternatives.
  • Ensuring all financial transactions are done in accordance with Admin/ financial operating procedures of the school.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank balances and postings for accurate verification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.
  • At least three (2) years of experience working in a similar role.
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation or at least the completion of first level of a recognised professional accounting program i.e. ICAN, ACCA
  • Knowledge of accounting programs/softwares and tech savvy
  • Ability to work with minimal or no errors in a fast paced environment
  • Organisation, planning, verbal and written communication.

Salary
N180,000 - N200,000 / month.
