Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting financial decision-making within the hospitality operation.
• This role involves overseeing daily accounting activities, monitoring costs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with management to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Job Description / Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow)
• Monitor revenue from rooms, food & beverage, events, and other hospitality services
• Reconcile bank statements, POS systems, and property management systems (PMS)
• Manage payroll processing and employee-related financial records
• Control costs by tracking expenses, inventory, and supplier invoices
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and internal controls
• Coordinate with department heads to analyze financial performance
• Support external auditors and regulatory inspections

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Knowledge of hospitality revenue streams (rooms, F&B, events, services)
• Familiarity with local tax laws, payroll regulations, and compliance standards

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with hospitality accounting systems (PMS, POS, ERP software)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of cost control in food & beverage and hotel operations

Salary
N250,000 - N500,000 / Month.
