Job Position: Accountant
Job Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
- Oversee the Bank’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Manage the Bank’s accounting systems, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations including CBN and NDIC guidelines.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulators during inspections and audits.
- Monitor cash flow, investment portfolios, and asset-liability positions.
- Ensure robust internal control systems and risk management frameworks are in place.
- Provide timely and strategic financial advice to the MD/CEO and Board.
- Supervise and develop the Finance & Accounts team to enhance performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
- Handle tax and statutory matters, including PAYE, VAT, and WHT remittances.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the MD/ CEO.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Finance & Accounts department of a Microfinance Bank, with at least 2 years served as Head of the department.
- Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is required. Must have passed at least some papers at the ICAN or ACCA professional stage.
- Completion of the CIBN Microfinance Certification Program will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of BankOne banking software is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Salary
N147,000 - N187,000 per month.
