Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the vibrant location of Victoria Island.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • As an accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports for management review.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Contribute to financial forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support their budgeting and financial analysis needs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or relevant Degree.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like Quick Books etc.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
