Job Position: Accounts Officer
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary
- We are currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of an Accounts Officer who will work seamlessly with a team and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, data entry, reconciling general ledger accounts, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and compliant with accounting standards.
- The accountant plays a key role in supporting financial reporting, audits, and internal controls within the Credit Society.
Key Objectives
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain compliance with cooperative financial regulations and accounting standards.
Core Responsibilities
General Ledger Management:
- Record and post journal entries for all financial transactions.
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Reconciliations:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements with ledger entries.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
Compliance & Controls:
- Maintain organized records and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting or financial operations
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an advantage
- Familiarity with inventory systems, insurance accounting, and event budgeting.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
- Ability to learn GL reconciliation processes
- Ability to learn advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial modelling)
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
