Job Description

• We're on a mission to simplify financial wellness and help thousands achieve their financial goals. As we continue to scale our impactful products, we're seeking a talented and driven Backend Developer to join our dynamic team.
• This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the core functionality of our platforms, building robust, secure, and scalable backend systems that enable our users to save, invest, and manage their finances seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs for our web and mobile applications.
• Restructure and optimize existing codebase to enhance application functionality and performance.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, UI/UX, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and exceptional user experiences.
• Implement and manage database solutions (MySQL/PostgreSQL) on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Integrate third-party APIs for critical functionalities like payments, identity verification, and communication.
• Ensure all backend systems adhere to strict security protocols and regulatory compliance standards (NDPR, CBN fintech regulations).
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Develop comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Technical Expertise:

• Programming Languages: Proficient in PHP (specifically Laravel).
• Frameworks: Strong expertise in Laravel.
• Database Management: Experience with SQL databases.
• Cloud Hosting: Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, AWS S3, and AWS RDS.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Proficient in GitHubfor version control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• Third-Party Integrations: Proven experience integrating with payment gateways, identity verification services, communication platforms, push notifications, and others.
• Security & Compliance: Strong understanding and practical application of security best practices, including NDPR and CBN fintech regulations, alongside server hardening practices.

Soft Skills:

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, especially under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams (frontend, mobile, and QA)
