CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY

Our client, a Power Distribution company in Lagos is currently seeking the services of a ‘’ CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER ‘’ to manage the Information Technology (IT) resources to implement company strategy. He/She will provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives to help our client maintain a competitive advantage of the organisation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordination of the MIS deliverables from subsidiaries as required by the Company, its Board as well as in compliance with Regulatory Obligations i.e. NERC.
• Establish Business discontinuity/disaster recovery planning for the Company, its subsidiaries as well as Clients.
• Be a provider of business strategy consultancy services to the subsidiary companies, including training, outsourcing, technology and its subsidiaries.
• Provide technological guidance whilst aligning IT objectives and programs across the entities in line with Company’s objectives and strategies
• Develop IT-centred business opportunities/applications for the generation of income from third parties i.e. establishments of data centres.
• Establishment strategic service provider partnerships across the entities and maximize a mix of in-house versus outsourced services.
• Coordinate IT security and compliance in al the Company entities, whilst optimizing cost of services through a mix or internal and external sources.
• Prepares annual IT budget and monitors expenditure to ensure adequate return on IT investments.
• Champions the effective use of Information Technology in the Company by identifying opportunities IT can be utilized to increase productivity and efficiency in business units.
• Coordinates with Head IT, Learning & Development and Performance management in the design and implementation of effective training programs for IT users across the organization.
• Defines requirements for new or improved technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• First degree and a Master’s degree in Computer/System/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineering/ Applied physics/ Computer Science or a related field.

• Member of Computer Association of Nigeria (COAN) or Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPRN).
• Relevant certifications e.g. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a Service Industry preferably Utilities, Power, Telecoms, banking etc. having held a senior management position for at least 5 years and involved in strategic decision making.
