Job Position: Compliance / Quality Assurance Manager

The Position


  • The Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the development and monitoring of adherence with business processes across functions and service lines for Control Risks in West Africa.
  • They will develop processes designed to mitigate risks and ensure quality control of service delivery, monitor and refine these processes, and investigate any deviations from due process.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Systems and process development and refinement:

  • Responsible for the development and continual improvement of business processes across all service lines.
  • Conduct and document internal risk assessments against agreed processes to understand risk levels, business exposure, quality control requirements etc.
  • Ensure that systems and process are fit for; flag failings to the management team, identify solutions and implement changes.
  • Support, and where applicable, lead on the certification and implementation for any required standards across the West Africa business, including ISO, internal policy and client standards.
  • Contribute to ensuring that robust and effective controls are implemented and adhered to across the business, adopting a highly detailed, pragmatic and holistic approach.
  • Collaborate with other departments, teams and internal offices to further enhance the culture of compliance.
  • Develop and document appropriate extensions to Control Risks’ global policies and process for regional (West Africa) implementation.

Monitoring and reporting:

  • Conduct on-going validation of compliance with established processes for client facing projects, focusing on the ECS monitoring system.
  • Internal monitoring of regulatory compliance; certify qualified suppliers, conduct quality improvement plans, develop and implement supplier ratings/scorecard.
  • Ensure vendors, contractors, agents and third parties are aware of relevant policies and procedures to ensure all risks are appropriately managed a.
  • Conduct regular assessments of vendors/suppliers in line with global policies, developing additional controls and KPIs as required.
  • Monitor and record organizational compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies in collaboration with relevant teams. Ensure management are routinely briefed and aware of evolving regulatory and governance issues and trends, including best practices outside of the organization and share briefings with the wider teams where appropriate.
  • Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests.
  • Proactively monitor, assess and address any compliance or quality control-related weaknesses across the business, including management maintenance of the internal risk register(s).

Investigation and continual improvement:

  • Work with relevant teams to support and oversee internal audits, reviews and investigations and issue handling; ensure reporting on all compliance program- related investigations, violation issues, resolution, and corrective action to relevant business functions.
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk.
  • Working with line management, HR and other teams as appropriate, ensure all employees are informed of the latest regulations and processes and understand the specific behaviours and actions required of them.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience working in corporate compliance in West Africa, ideally in a related industry sector
  • Education to a Degree level
  • Demonstrable experience delivering compliance driven solutions in line with industry best practice and professional standards, including (but not limited to) ISO9001 and ISO18788
  • Extensive knowledge of local, national and regional compliance requirements across West Africa
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
