Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

Job Description


  • Executes work/implements best practices for legal services on assigned transactions.
  • Provides comprehensive legal advice on the legal implications of proposed policies, decisions, contracts, and actions (in areas including, but not limited to employment law, contracts, litigation, leases, commercial, finance, regulatory compliance and intellectual property matters) that takes into cognizance the business needs of the organization, internal governance requirements, trends in the oil and gas industry and provisions of other contracts within the organization.
  • Provides appropriate draft responses to employment and other claims.
  • Promptly files statutory and regulatory returns.
  • Liaises with external lawyers and obtains regular updates on ongoing matters.
  • Drafts well-articulated letters to external parties of sensitive matters as may be directed by the Company Secretary & Legal Adviser.
  • Drafts legal opinions, resolutions, agreements, and other documents as may be requested for review by the Company Secretary & Legal Adviser.

Requirements

  • Primary Skills: Degree in Law
  • 5-7 years in-house oil and gas legal work experience within the legal department of reputable and structured business environment.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive legal analysis.
  • Strong & effective business communication (verbal and writing skills).
  • Ability to plan and execute complex assignments under pressure.
  • Ability to exercise initiative in prioritizing and executing work, strong self-starter requiring little supervision and follow up.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and superior judgment.
  • Understanding of local, national, and international laws and regulations pertaining to Oil & Gas will be an advantage.
