Job Position: Executive Assistant to the CEO

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Purpose


  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Executive Assistant with the potential to grow into a CEO role.
  • This individual will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including managing key business operations, financial reporting, relationship management, and strategic business development.
  • The right candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and be groomed for future leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian financial terrain, the ability to relate with financial regulators such as FIRS and CBN, and the ability to procure new licenses for business expansion are key assets.
  • The candidate must be self-driven, highly flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Currency Swaps & Treasury Management: Support and manage currency swaps and the sale of treasury products, ensuring optimal financial management.
  • Business Development & Relationship Management: Act as a point of contact for high-level executives and key stakeholders, maintaining and strengthening business relationships.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial accounts and profitability reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the financial process.
  • Strategic Conversations: Engage with CEOs and senior leaders of blue-chip companies on financial instruments such as bills of exchange and letters of credit.
  • Research & Feasibility Studies: Conduct in-depth market research and feasibility studies to support business growth initiatives.
  • Presentation & Communication: Create presentations and PowerPoint decks for executive meetings, ensuring high-quality and impactful communication.
  • Operational Support: Manage day-to-day operations and assist with administrative duties to relieve senior leadership of operational responsibilities, enabling business expansion.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with financial regulators, including but not limited to FIRS and CBN, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and financial instruments.
  • Licensing & Expansion: Procure new licenses and ensure that the business complies with regulatory requirements for new market opportunities and business expansion.
  • Target Setting & Achievement: Set clear targets and budgets (recommend a yearly budget for approval) for various business functions, seek approval from leadership, and take full responsibility for achieving the agreed-upon numbers within set timelines.
  • Work Style: Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in managing a variety of tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Any other responsibility as the company evolves and expands.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or similar advanced degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in an executive assistant, business development, or finance-related role.
  • A strong first degree

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of currency swaps, treasury products, and financial instruments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with advanced skills in presentation design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and operational tasks.
  • Ability to engage knowledgeably with senior executives on complex financial matters.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of business licensing processes and regulatory requirements for new markets.
  • Strong organizational skills to set, manage, and achieve targets and budgets.
  • Additional Qualities: A growth mindset, with the potential and drive to evolve into a senior leadership role.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian Financial Terrain: Familiarity with Nigeria's financial landscape, including its regulations, financial instruments, and market dynamics, is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Ability to effectively interact with financial regulators, including FIRS and CBN, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Licensing & Expansion: Ability to navigate the procurement of new licenses and understand the skills needed to support business growth and development.
