Job Position: Full Stack Developer

Job Description

• We seek a skilled Full-Stack Developer to be our foundational technical hire and build the initial Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for an online marketplace.
• As the sole developer for the MVP phase (~3-4 months), you will build our platform (front and backend) from scratch based on detailed specifications. You will work remotely and collaborate directly with the founder.
• The project goal is to develop a functional marketplace including: user registration/login (buyer/seller roles); product listings with image uploads (S3/similar); public product browsing/viewing; basic real-time buyer-seller chat (Socket.IO); shopping cart; secure checkout using third-party payment integration (e.g., Stripe Connect, Helcim); seller dashboard; and admin seller approval.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend APIs (Node.js/Express.js) and frontend (React/Vite).
• Design and manage PostgreSQL database schemas (using an ORM like Prisma/Sequelize).
• Integrate third-party services: Marketplace payment solutions (e.g., Stripe Connect, Helcim), cloud storage, email, WebSockets.
• Write functional, maintainable code and push frequently to GitHub.
• Collaborate on troubleshooting, bug fixing, and iterative improvements.
• Deploy the application to a cloud hosting environment.
• Implement security best practices throughout development.

Requirements

• Proven full-stack experience with strong proficiency in Node.js/Express.js (backend), React (frontend), and PostgreSQL (database) technologies.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design and implementation, and JWT authentication.
• Proficient with GitHub and Git workflows.
• Experience deploying web applications to cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving ability, self-motivated, reliable, and disciplined in a remote setting.
• Security-conscious approach to development.
• This is a contract position that will last 3 to 4 months to build our MVP. Successful completion and platform growth may lead to extending the contract.

Salary
N300,000 Monthly.
