Job Summary


  • We are seeking an exceptional, results driven and detail-oriented Head of Accounts to oversee the financial accounting functions across our diversified group of companies.
  • The Head of Accounts will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, compliance with industry regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning across the group's subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of timely financial statements in line with IFRS and local accounting standards
  • Consolidate group financials and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements..
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across subsidiaries.
  • Establish and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Support the CFO in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and provide insights tomanagement for decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements.
  • Ensure efficient treasury operations andoptimizeworking capital management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team across the group.
  • Promote continuous improvement in processes, systems, and team capabilities.
  • Oil & Gas: Track capital expenditures, cost recovery, JV accounting, and upstream/downstream reporting.
  • Fintech: Oversee digital revenue streams, transaction reconciliations, and CBN compliance.
  • IT: Manage project-based accounting, licensing revenue, and software cost capitalization.
  • Ensure the remittance of VAT & WHT in FIRS Tax-promax platform.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
  • Experience working in or across Oil & Gas, Fintech or Banking is desirable.

  • Deep knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
