Job Summary


  • As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, visitors, and the surrounding environment within the manufacturing facility.
  • You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures to mitigate workplace risks and to comply with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure the compliance with health and safety regulations and staying updated on local, state, and federal policies, guidelines and procedures for all employees.
  • Develop and implement measures to mitigate identified risks, including equipment modifications, safety protocols, and employee training within the facility.
  • Provide training and orientation programs for new employees on safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive incident reporting system to investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the manufacturing facility to identify and correct potential hazards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (relevant certifications or training may be considered)
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
  • Technician (OHST) is a plus.
