Overview of Position


  • We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist with 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience to join our HR team. The individual’s role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional.
  • The HR Generalist will play a key role in managing various HR functions, supporting employee relations, and contributing to the overall success of the human resources department.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment as well as use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Address employee concerns, provide guidance on HR policies, and work to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in the recruitment process
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Communicate changes to employees and provide clarification when necessary.
  • Support the performance management process
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and morale.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to train and employee turnover rates
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. MSc or additional qualifications is an advantage.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in human resources roles, with a focus on HR generalist responsibilities.
  • Relevant certification is an added advantage, example CIPM, HRCI and SPHR
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
