We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) ESG and EHS Manager

Job Location: Iganmu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and initiatives related to sustainability, and health and safety within the organization.
  • This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promoting saocially responsible practices, and enhancing overall ESG performance indicators related to processing operations focusing on GHG and resource use reduction.

Key Deliverables

  • Primary role:
    • Conduct comprehensive carbon footprint assessments and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories across company operations focusing on Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
    • Analyze data to identify key sources of carbon emissions and develop strategies to reduce emissions intensity and achieve carbon reduction goals in the processing operations.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential risks and hazards, and develop corrective action plans to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG and EHS considerations into business operations, product development, and supply chain management.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and industry organizations to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field of Engineering; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in ESG, EHS, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field, with progressive responsibility in program development and management preferably with experience in a corporate role.
  • Professional certification in EHS management (e.g., CSP, CIH or equivalent) and/or sustainability (e.g., GRI, CDP) is highly desirable.

2.) Regional Manufacturing Head

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Full time

Job Description

  • The Regional manufacturing head would manage the operations and success of Olam Agri Pasta manufacturing units.
  • You are responsible to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety & productivity.
  • The regional manufacturing Head plays a critical role which enables our plants to reach optimum efficiency level this means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses

Key Deliverables

  • The Role is responsible but not limited to leading teams to drive engagement and increased performance.
  • Maintain & monitor production in respect of output yield/extraction capacity against set targets. 
  • Eye for detail: You control stock levels (through line managers/supervisors) of both raw materials and finished products to ensure efficient response to product specifications.
  • Purchase of all materials necessary to maintain efficient production, handling and packaging products.
  • Analytical skills to tackle organizational challenges and drive improvements.
  • Negotiation skills, particularly with key stakeholders like union, suppliers, government agencies
  • Strategic thinking to align operational strategies with the company's goals.
  • Completion of any incident or near miss Root Cause Analyses (SHE-EWO) actions
  • Strong understanding of the commercials in the manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
  • An ability to enhance process efficiency in production.
  • In this role you will be challenged to develop your line leadership team. You build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication. Motivates team members to achieve plan goals

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Plant Head or Maintenance manager and looking to manage large independent operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 15-25 years of experience. Preferably in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or similar field.
  • Good people management skills and should be able to lead a team of different personalities and skillsets.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple activities concurrently.
  • You should possess strong team and analytical skills, strategic thinking & leadership abilities
  • An enthusiasm to work in an unstructured environment will always add value
  • Your ability to communicate effectively will be an enhancer for this role especially as part of a team
  • You should be able to understand business issues outside of one’s area of expertise.

3.) Associate, Future Leaders Programme

Job Location: Iganmu, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Future Leaders program offers a customized development journey structured to explore your potential within your business/functional stream.
  • It immerses you into the operations from day one ensuring your learning experience is relevant, practical, and hands-on working with experts on the field.
  • The successful candidate will join the global future leader’s management program of Olam, which will provide structured learning in various modules within Business Management, Supply chain, Operational roles in different countries globally. 

There are two distinct phases:

  • Phase I Corporate Onboarding: A learning zone - formal exposure to all aspects of the business to accelerate your knowledge on the Olam way of doing business, who we are, what we do, and how we operate
  • Phase II Field Rotations & Business Unit Rotations: Hands-on exposures across business models/geographies, mentored by a senior leader, designed to fast track your knowledge of the business/function. You will be placed in your potential role, with clear responsibilities to deliver. You will be closely mentored by a senior leader and supported by an HR Partner during this phase

Key Deliverables
As a Branch Manager, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to.

  • Design, implement and manage the Strategy for the product in the country with the respective teams below him to drive and deliver volumes as per the overall business plan.
  • Manage and support Credit Exposure, Pricing Strategies, Forwards / Future/ Hedging, and working capital management
  • Ensure high motivational levels in the team and get the team aligned with the overall product strategy that we follow in the country
  • Support the business head in trading and positional decisions by providing adequate and timely market information
  • Optimize utilization of processing and quality resources in the country to derive maximum capacity utilization and efficiencies and to eliminate controllable losses and minimize the impact of non-controllable losses
  • Support in implementation of the required infrastructure to deliver volumes as per the business plan
  • Interface with appropriate regulatory bodies for obtaining permissions, approvals, etc.
  • Capability building amongst local staff

Requirements

  • Credentials and experience are important at Olam. We seek post-graduate qualifications from Leading schools globally with 2-3 years of experience in Business Management, supply chain & operations
  • Mobility is important. A career in Olam is strengthened with multi-location experience including emerging economies.
