1.) Technical Superintendent

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description


  • Responsible for the overall management and technical operations of the vessels under his responsibility.
  • This includes overseeing the daily maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey scheduling, onboard general assessment of vessels, inspections and docking when required.
  • Ensure Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
  • Ensure the assigned vessels are fully operational technically or otherwise managed accordingly to the management agreement requirements.
  • To maintain the classification status of the vessels under his charge and to ensure that the survey status reports are sent to the vessels on a monthly basis.
  • Support and monitor on-board Planned Preventive Maintenance to ensure cost effective management and effective implementation of this function.
  • Ensure that Vessels Planned maintenance system is being operated and reported in the manner prescribed in the company’s standards and procedures.
  • Budget responsibility for technical elements of the assigned vessels.
  • Co-ordinate and supervise service repairs, utilizing approved sub-contractors as required and ensure all such repairs are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner and within the vessel’s set operational budget.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive vessel dry-dock specifications and to supervise dry-dockings and repairs to completion as directed. Dry dockings and repairs may take place at a location remote from normal place of work.
  • Responsible for overseeing the installation and certification of 3rd party equipment on the vessels, such as Diving, ROV and other temporary equipment.
  • Liaise with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers as required and providing technical advice and assistance when necessary.
  • Identify and source for technical and operational supplies required for the vessels and ensure that the rates are most economical.
  • Liaising with repair yard management, sub-contractors, Class and Administration to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and time schedules.
  • Providing written reports as required, detailing in service repairs dry-docking repairs and surveys, including costs incurred during such activities.
  • Ensure all relevant information regarding a vessel repair / docking is updated in the PMS system.
  • Liaise with customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing department to ensure that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner.
  • Report to Fleet Manager when delays have the potential to impact on vessels operational capabilities.
  • Ensure IMCA guidelines and “best industry practices” are adhered to at all times.
  • Oversee and give input to prepare tender documents including establishing costs/budgets/programs and be part of subsequent bid/tender evaluations.
  • Ensure minimum spare requirements are met.
  • Perform monthly review of logs processes and attend to vessel inspections and submit reports.
  • Responsible for the control and updating of the vessel Technical Library (ship’s plans and drawings) as required.
  • Contribute to the appraisal and selection of repair yards and technical service providers.
  • Carry out appraisals of Chief Engineers on board his vessel at end of their contract.

Others:

  • Maintain high technical knowledge and ensure personal development through training and self-development.
  • Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required.
  • Participate in annual review and evaluate projects to determine success and how improvements can be made in the future report and present findings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unlimited STCW ’95 Chief Engineer’s license (Motor) sea going vessels or
  • Engineering Degree / Diploma in Mechanics /Electromechanical Engineering with 10+ years relevant work experience.

2.) Cook

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • This focus of this role is to prepare Local and Continental meals in the kitchen according to the company’s recipes or tastes, handling all meals for the Food and beverage unit.
  • Prepare and serve food as required, creating new menus and using skills for preparing new delicacies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing food according to menu.
  • Stock, organize, and clean kitchens and cooking utensils.
  • Shop for or order food and kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Plan menus according to required needs and diet restrictions.
  • Pay adequate attention to garnishing and presentation of food.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenace of cooking utensils.
  • Ensure that all purchased items are immediately unpacked and stored in the right places as soon as they arrive.
  • Ensure that food is well preserved i.e wrappring correctly in plastic bags, grease wrappers etc as necessary, using plastic containers for freezing purposes.
  • Serve meals and snacks to employing families and their guests.
  • Plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events.
  • Direct the operation and organization of kitchens and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food.
  • Learn, create and explore new menus.

Educational Qualification and Training

  • Candidates should possess a certificate from a reputable hospitality school or culinary school.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in similar field.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Cook must be healthy, neat, knowledgeable and ready to learn.
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Be Resourceful.
  • Able to follow instruction.
  • Cook is expected to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Must have a good memory (quick to respond and remember instructions).
  • Economical when cooking(not wasteful), yet generous when serving.

3.) Safety Officer / Mooring Master

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full time

Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for all safety and environmental issues on-board
  • Act as Assistant Mooring on board.
  • May act as HLO as required.
  • To be familiar with rules, regulations, and work procedures applicable to the task to be executed.
  • Manage pollution response.
  • Monitor all onboard equipment, systems, and procedures to reduce risks for pollution.
  • Delegated authority from OIM to ensure that only certified and tested cargo gears in the best and approved working order are used for lifting and personnel transport.
  • Monitor condition and ensure maintenance of all safety equipment.
  • Monitor waste and hazardous material management systems on board.
  • Manage oil and chemical spill clean-up equipment.
  • Monitor boat traffic and supply boat operations are well-controlled and carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Upgrade safe work procedures on board as deemed necessary.
  • Organize safety briefing with master and chief officer before loading operation.
  • Organize start-up of loading operation and monitoring upon loading is completed and cargo valves secured.
  • Ensure that personnel executing hazardous work are trained and fully informed of the work procedures and/or quality plans and that they are complied with.
  • Monitors crane operations
  • Monitor crew lists and other documentation related to FPSO people movement.
  • Overall responsibility for inspection, maintenance, and operation of the entire floating offloading system, including FPSO export manifolds; Floating hose strings; SBM Loading buoy; Mooring hawsers; Mooring assemblies; Mooring chafing chains; Mooring pick-up ropes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master Mariner - STCW95 Reg. II/2 and Flag state endorsement of recognition
  • Mooring Master Approval and logbook including an in-depth background in senior position from tanker operation.
  • Meet requirements for certification as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more and have at least 12 months approved seagoing service in that capacity.
  • Have completed approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/2 of the STCW code for master on ships of 3000 gross tonnage or more.
  • Excellent command of English written and spoken.
