We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Matron / Head Nurse

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary


  • A leading healthcare facility in Port Harcourt is inviting applications from qualified and dynamic nursing professionals to fill the position of Matron (Head Nurse).
  • This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing department to ensure delivery of excellent patient care, efficient staff management, and adherence to healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing team, fostering a culture of professionalism, empathy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Registered Nurse with a valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hospital setting.
  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc) or equivalent; a Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare policies, nursing standards, patient care methodologies, and hospital accreditation processes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, make sound decisions, and solve complex problems.

2.) Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Summary

  • An HMO Officer manages Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) related activities for a healthcare provider, focusing on patient insurance verification, claims processing, billing, and liaising with HMO representatives to ensure accurate payments and compliance with regulations.
  • Key responsibilities include verifying patient benefits, obtaining service authorizations, submitting and tracking claims, coordinating with billing departments, and resolving discrepancies to ensure timely processing of payments and services.
  • The role requires strong administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
HMO Liaison:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the healthcare provider and HMOs, managing communications and building strong relationships.
  • Patient Verification: Confirm patient eligibility and benefits with various HMOs to ensure they are covered for services.
  • Authorization & Approvals: Obtain necessary approvals from HMOs for specific medical treatments or services.
  • Claims Management: Prepare, submit, and track claims with HMOs, following up on rejected or pending claims to ensure prompt payment.
  • Billing & Reconciliation: Work with the billing team to ensure accurate invoicing and reconcile HMO payments, outstanding balances, and discrepancies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all HMO transactions and communications adhere to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Problem Resolution: Address discrepancies and issues related to claims or coverage between patients and HMOs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, HMO information, and relevant documentation.

3.) Medical Billing Officer

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and review patient invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with hospital billing procedures
  • Ensure every patient receives appropriate billing and payment is processed through the cashier
  • Process bills between the 1st and 4th of every month as per hospital policy
  • Maintain accurate billing records and ensure correspondence with treatments provided
  • Reconcile patient accounts and process complex financial transactions
  • Ensure all HMO platforms are adequately followed and patients are treated according to their plans
  • Handle HMO patients whose coverage requires additional authorization or private payment
  • Maintain secure and accurate patient billing databases
  • Serve as primary liaison between Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and the hospital's medical team
  • Verify patient eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations from HMOs
  • Process HMO claims submissions and ensure timely payment collection
  • Prepare and transmit insurance claims using electronic and paper processing methods
  • Follow up on unpaid claims to minimize revenue loss
  • Handle patient and insurance inquiries regarding billing matters
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies

Qualifications and Requirements
Educational Background:

  • Minimum of an HND / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification in healthcare billing (preferred).

Experience:

  • Experience in hospital billing or HMO operations
  • Experience with medical billing software, portals and HMO platforms
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding system.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Google Docs and project management tools
  • Experience with billing software and electronic claims processing.

4.) Medical Records Technician

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess an HND / B.sc qualification in Medical Records from a recognized institution. HMO
  • 1 - 5 years of experience is required.
  • Valid practicing license from the relevant body is mandatory.
  • Candidate must possess a good National Diploma in Medical Records Technician with at least 3 years post-qualification cognate experience and should be fully registered with the Institute of Medical Record Technicians of Nigeria.
  • Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential
  • Welcome and direct patients and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Handle patient registration and appointment scheduling.
  • Manage phone calls, enquiries, and patient follow-ups.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Must be Computer Literate.

Competency and Technical Skill Requirements:
