We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Accountant

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

• The Junior Accountant will support the accounting department by managing daily tasks, assisting with financial statement preparation, and ensuring accurate financial records.
• Prepare financial statements and reporting of day-to-day work.
• The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to details.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing and preparing invoices.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and other reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Assist senior accountants with various tasks as needed.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy.
• Support other departments with expense reviews.

Requirements

• Male candidates only
• Entry-level experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
