We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Purpose (Summary)

• To support the Finance & Accounts Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
• The role ensures adherence to company accounting policies, supports audit activities, and contributes to the accuracy and integrity of financial information for effective management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and update daily financial transactions including cash, bank, and site payments.
• Verify and file supporting documents such as receipts, invoices, and waybills.
• Prepare weekly cash expense reports and reconcile balances with the accountant.
• Monitor site cash usage and ensure reports align with actual disbursements.
• Post approved payment vouchers and journal entries accurately.
• Track staff and site cash advances, ensuring prompt retirements.
• Assist in updating asset records and generating accurate reports.
• Produce weekly and monthly financial reports for management review.
• Maintain bank and petty cash reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing activities and report generation.
• Follow up on financial discrepancies and incomplete documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist in internal and external audit preparations.
