Job Position: Loan Portfolio Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Overview


  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Portfolio Manager to join our financial services team. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client loans, with a focus on maintaining the health of the loan portfolio, maximizing profitability, and ensuring excellent client relationships.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, risk assessment, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management and Analysis:

  • Monitor and manage the health of the loan portfolio, including tracking portfolio performance metrics.
  • Conduct financial analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities to improve portfolio performance.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Understand clients' business models and financial needs to provide tailored financial solutions.
  • Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction.

Loan Origination and Renewal:

  • Assess new loan applications, including conducting credit analyses and due diligence.
  • Oversee the loan renewal process, evaluating clients' financial health and repayment capacity.

Risk Management:

  • Implement risk management strategies and tools to monitor and manage credit risk.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure compliance and manage exposure.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, such as underwriting and credit analysis, to ensure a seamless loan process.
  • Provide insights and reports to senior management on portfolio performance and risk exposure.

Field Engagement:

  • Conduct regular field visits to assess client operations and build rapport.
  • Collect and analyze field data to inform portfolio management decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in portfolio management, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis and risk management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office and financial analysis software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management and business development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client visits and field assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA.
  • Experience with CRM and portfolio management software.
  • Knowledge of local and regional financial regulations and practices.
