Job Position: Logistics / Warehouse Manager
Job Location: Makurdir Benue
Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Logistics / Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics coordination, and distribution efficiencyacross our lubricants depot and delivery network.
- This role is critical to ensuring product availability, stock integrity, timely deliveries, and strict control of inventory, especially in our mandate as anauthorized distributorresponsible for eliminating counterfeit lubricants in the market.
- The ideal candidate is hands-on, process-driven, detail-oriented, and accountable, with strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of warehouse, logistics, and stock management operations.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Depot Operations:
- Manage day-to-day warehouse and depot activities
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of lubricants and related products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations
Inventory Management & Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement logs
- Track stock receipts, issues, transfers, and balances
- Conduct regular stock counts and periodic audits
- Investigate and resolve stock variances or discrepancies
- Monitor expiry dates, batch numbers, and product integrity
- Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles are followed
Logistics & Distribution Management:
- Plan and coordinate product deliveries to customers and institutional partners
- Manage loading, dispatch, and delivery schedules
- Ensure proper documentation for all dispatches (delivery notes, waybills)
- Coordinate with drivers and third-party logistics providers where applicable
- Track deliveries and resolve delivery-related issues promptly
Fleet & Equipment Oversight:
- Supervise vehicles, forklifts, and warehouse equipment
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and properly maintained
- Track fuel usage and basic logistics costs
- Report maintenance needs or operational risks
Compliance, Safety & Security:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Implement safety procedures for handling petroleum products
- Enforce access control and security protocols within the warehouse
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and inspections
Team Supervision & Reporting:
- Supervise warehouse assistants, loaders, and drivers
- Assign duties, monitor performance, and enforce discipline
- Train staff on inventory handling, safety, and SOPs
- Prepare and submit regular operational and inventory reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- HND / Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with 3–5 years of experience in warehouse and logistics management
- Experience in lubricants, FMCG, oil & gas distribution, or industrial supplies is a strong advantage
Core Competencies:
- Strong inventory management and stock control skills
- Excellent organizational and planning ability
- Leadership and people-management skills
- High attention to detail and accountability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery timelines
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking tools
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP tools (an advantage)
- Ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation
