DCSL Corporate Services Limited is a private limited liability company which provides executive selection, company secretarial, governance, immigration, and training services to diverse governmental, corporate, and individual clients across several business sectors in Nigeria. We operate from our Head Office in Lagos, with an operational branch in Abuja.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Managing Director

Job Description

• Direct and control the work and resources of the company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained, and developed staff to implement the company’s business plan.
• Prepare long-term and annual business plans and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the company attains its key performance targets efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Develop and direct the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure that the company complies with good health, safety and environment policies, and effective diversity and inclusion policies.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance to the board of directors, to keep them aware of developments within the ports, bonded terminal, haulage, logistics, freight forwarding and shipping industries in West Africa, and ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company's mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the services and image of the company domestically and internationally.
• Represent the company in negotiations with customers, banks, shipping lines, third-party haulers, Nigerian Customs Service, Shipper’s Council, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Nigerian Ports Authority, and other key stakeholders to secure optimal terms for the business.
• Oversee the preparation of annual report and accounts of the company and ensure approval by the board and shareholders.

Job Requirements

• Master's Degree in Business, Logistics, Shipping, Maritime or Law
• Over 15 years of international experience in shipping, logistics, port operations and container haulage with proven track record of growing market share, introducing service offerings, and building similar businesses within and outside Nigeria.
• Demonstrable understanding of applicable laws and regulations on import, export and operation of ports and bonded terminals in Nigeria.
• Ability to create and manage operations systems to handle transactions and shipments.
• Sound business judgment in identifying potential business partners.
• Understanding of Financial Management, Return on Investment, Cost of Capital and Cashflow.
• Experience with Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Port Authority, International Shipping Lines, Nigeria Shipper’s Council, Maritime Unions, and other Federal and State Government Agencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Verbal communication in French and/or Nigerian languages will be a plus.
• Regional knowledge of Nigeria and understanding of challenges faced by shippers, shipping lines, importers, exporters, and haulers operating in the country. Expertise and network in international shipping and logistics industry.
• Proven ability to mentor subordinates and build effective teams.
• Highly motivated, committed to the highest ethical standards.
