We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Metering Engineer
Job Location: Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities 


  • Responsible for the supervision, implementation and execution of the CEG Electricity Meter project assigned end to end; Planning, Calibrations and Investigations.
  • Execute project management activities, manage both the clients and suppliers in delivering projects with committed project deliverables
  • Vendor Contracts & Agreements; Good vendor Management skills and network in the field.
  • Maintaining Project overview report.
  • Oversee and validate new or up-dated equipment specifications from recognised / approved metering equipment vendors.
  • Liaises with vendors to ensure regulatory and technical standards and requirements are met in the design and supply of metering components.
  • Oversees maintenance instructions and spares necessary for a seamless factory operation.
  • Oversee and manage the development and training of factory staff to ensure short- and long-term skill requirements.
  • Conducting periodic team reviews in order to track developments in the assigned projects.
  • Specify and monitor metering equipment standards in accordance with regulatory requirements and CEG standards.
  • Oversee and specify meter asset needs and assist in system design for both new, up-grades and meter replacements for all category of customers.
  • Oversee the submission of tenders and contract bidding from both government and private institutions
  • Establish standard operating procedures for production operations as needed and ensuring that the standard operating procedures are adhered to
  • Estimate production costs, set production budgets, manage/monitor production budgets
  • Maintaining QA plan and having same updated on periodically. Initiate plans and processes that minimize operational costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Oversee the entire assembling process for efficiency, attainment of business objectives and optimal performance.
  • Periodically, assess and measure the performance of electrical and mechanical components, and devices and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Establish and control the production schedule and reviewing/adjusting the schedule where needed
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant units including procurement, quality control, maintenance and management.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System / Occupation Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs

Requirements and Skills

  • Preferably an Engineering Graduate with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Nigeria's Electricity Distribution Chain / or similar establishment, with a minimum of 6 years in leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and their applications.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Presentations.
  • Good understanding of materials handling, production, and assembling, vendor management & fair knowledge of the market.
  • Versatile and pleasant personality with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Electric utility metering experience and knowledge of electrical distribution equipment highly desired
  • Key Competencies
  • Membership of NSE and COREN is mandatory
