Enaro Energy is a startup Mini-Grid company that is currently developing a fully commercial, pilot mini-grid project in Nigeria with the intent to scale up and rapidly install several mini-grids across the country. It is a technology agnostic, distributed energy service provider that uses a variety of renewable and fossil fuel primary energy sources to provide competitively priced, predictable and reliable electrical power to small businesses and households across the country.

Job Description


  • We are looking for a qualified O&M Technician that will control, operate and maintain machinery and other auxiliary equipment to generate and distribute electric power from a 1MW gas-fired power plant.
  • A successful O&M Technician must have a thorough knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering work and a good understanding of power generation and distribution. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
What You Would Be Responsible For:

  • Monitor and adjust a variety of controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations.
  • Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems or malfunctions.
  • Ensuring that preventive or corrective maintenance for the plant is performed according to procedures and agreed on checklists, making sure all issues are permanently resolved.
  • Record and compile operational data by completing and maintaining forms, logs or reports
  • Perform overhead services on diesel and CNG stations.
  • Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery and equipment using testing devices.
  • Utilize a variety of analogue and digital informational displays to understand operational performance variables, such as electricity flow and voltage, and record information accurately into manual logs and computer databases.
  • Follow all relevant safety protocols and legal codes to ensure proper operation of equipment and minimize the risk of damage to property and personnel.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other power plant personnel, including managers, engineers and subcontractors to encourage teamwork and properly coordinate tasks.
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in both power generation and distribution.
  • Experience servicing, testing and installation of commercial diesel/gas generators and energy meters.
  • Familiar with electrical distribution systems up to 11KV.
  • Embraces and promotes a safety culture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including on-call shifts.
  • Nearness to the location will be an advantage.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
