Job Overview

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payment Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring all our payment processes adhere to the strict regulations set forth by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
  • The successful candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, and passion for ensuring financial transactions are compliant and secure.

What You will Do

  • Process and reconcile all incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, adhering to all reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with external parties such as banks and third-party payment processors.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal payment procedures.
  • Monitor and identify potential fraud or suspicious activity, and report any concerns promptly.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of robust internal controls for all payment processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest regulations and guidance related to payments, and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Oversee the safeguarding of Client Money.

Requirements
What You Should Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or similar qualification a plus).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an FCA-regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, particularly those related to payments (e.g., PSD2, AML/CFT).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong understanding of spreadsheets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
